  • An exclusive invitation to the Top100 Mid-Sized Companies Award Black Tie Gala Dinner. This event is a unique networking opportunity and is covered widely in the press. You will personally be called onto the stage to receive your award.
  • Top100 Club;  Your company will be able to use the Kenya Top100 Mid-Sized Companies Club 2022 Logo in letterheads, branding, collateral, and outreach. Past participants have overwhelmingly confirmed that the inclusion of the Top100 club logo on company branding does help attract business.
4Can a company participate again if it has participated in past surveys?

Yes, a company can participate as many times as it would want. Most repeat participants indicate that they use the survey to benchmark themselves against their peers and industry. Past Club 101 winners are not eligible to participate in the competition

5What is the Top 100 Mid-Sized Companies Survey?

Top 100 mid-sized companies Survey (‘Top 100 Survey’) is an initiative of KPMG and Nation Media Group. The survey seeks to identify Kenya’s fastest-growing medium-sized companies to showcase business excellence and highlight some of the country’s most successful entrepreneurship stories. 6What are the evaluation criteria for the Top 100 Survey?

Kindly visit the Top 100 website on How to participate for the survey categories and what the evaluation is based on. However, the general requirements companies should meet for all the entries are;

  • Should have a four-year average turnover of KShs 50 million to KShs 1bilion.  The years under review in the 2022 survey will be 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.
  • If a company has participated in the Top100 competition before and has had a turnover of KShs.1 billion in any of the years in review, they are eligible for consideration to join club101. Please note that a company should not participate if they have been recognised as a Club 101 company before.
  • Should have four-year audited financial records
  • Should not be listed in the Nairobi Securities Exchange
  • Banks, professional services firms (such as law, accounting, and audit firms), SACCOS, and insurance companies are excluded from participation

CSR/Philanthropy

10 companies that have philanthropy as part of their DNA and have shaped the societies we live in through conducting impactful CSR initiatives

All companies are eligible to apply.  Evaluation will be based on the responses to the questions in the specific category in addition to the financial questionnaire

 

Digital Transformation

10 companies that have reimagined businesses using digital technologies to create new or modify existing business processes, cultures, and customer experiences to meet the needs of an ever-changing business landscape.

All companies are eligible to apply. Evaluation will be based on the responses to the questions in the specific category in addition to the financial questionnaire

 

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

10 companies whose work practices promote the representation and participation of different groups of individuals, including people of different ages, abilities and disabilities, genders, religions, and cultures.

All companies are eligible to apply. Evaluation will be based on the responses to the questions in the specific category in addition to the financial questionnaire

 

Health & Safety

10 companies that stand out in proactively incorporating occupational health and safety environment for all their stakeholders and especially for their employees.

All companies are eligible to apply. Evaluation will be based on the responses to the questions in the specific category in addition to the financial questionnaire

 

Innovative companies

10 companies whose businesses have disrupted the market by offering unique products and /or services and have redefined how business is done by incorporating innovative processes.

All companies are eligible to apply. Evaluation will be based on the responses to the questions in the specific category in addition to the financial questionnaire

Female CEO

10 companies whose female founders have made an impact in their business as extraordinary leaders and under their helm as CEOs, they have steered their companies to great financial performance.

This category will be open to everybody who participates in any of the other categories and will be evaluated primarily on the financial performance of the company, hence, the category does not appear on the questionnaire since it does not require self-nomination.

Family Business

10 companies that are family businesses but have wavered through the common challenges faced by similar businesses and their companies are exuding great financial performance.

This category will be open to family businesses that participate in any of the other categories and will be evaluated primarily on the financial performance of the company. This category, therefore, does not appear on the questionnaire since it does not require self-nomination.

Sustainable businesses

10 companies that have incorporated the aspect of sustainability in their business through embedding Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies at the core of their business.

All companies are eligible to apply. Evaluation will be based on the responses to the questions in the specific category in addition to the financial questionnaire

 

Young CEO

10 companies that have incorporated the aspect of sustainability in their business through embedding Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies at the core of their business.

All companies are eligible to apply. Evaluation will be based on the responses to the questions in the specific category in addition to the financial questionnaire

Overall winner category

10 companies that have participated in at least four of the above categories, with the sustainable business category being a must.

To be eligible for evaluation in the ‘Overall’ category, a company must have participated in any other 4 categories and the ‘Sustainability’ category is a must. Evaluation will be based on the responses to the questions in the four categories in addition to the financial questionnaires.
